| As part of the sale the UPS Systems staff have transferred to Chloride with the business. This ensures that together we are able to have a seamless transition for our customers and we are able to maintain and improve the service levels we have been offering for UPS products. | The sale to Chloride represents an important development for the business. Chloride is the European market leader for critical power products and services – this will allow our business to develop further within an organisation which is focussed exclusively on providing UPS system solutions. Siemens has had a close working relationship with Chloride since selling the German Siemens Masterguard business to Chloride in 1999. The combination of Chloride’s breadth and depth of critical power knowledge and service delivery will provide Siemens and Chloride customers with the genuine opportunity of having a single supplier for all critical power requirements. |

| This new partnership provides our customers with the ability to complement the Siemens offering with a Chloride critical power solution to ensure power security to critical processes in industrial applications. |

| Operational impact on customers: |
|
| Service contract customers – all standalone UPS service contracts will be managed through Chloride. Any Siemens customers who have service contracts which include UPS products will be managed through Siemens as before with the UPS element subcontracted out to Chloride.
