| Juergen Maier is the Managing Director of Siemens UK Industry Sector, a leading global supplier of production, transport and building technologies. In the UK this activity represents a business volume of around £1’’5 billion, and the sector employs around 5000 people. |

| Prior to taking up this role in October 2008, Juergen has held a number of senior business and manufacturing roles within Siemens in the UK and Germany, most recently as Director of European sales and marketing for Siemens low voltage controls business, and Managing Director of Siemens Shared Services UK. |
|
| On joining Siemens in 1986 after obtaining a BSC (Hons) in production engineering from Nottingham Trent University, Juergen held a number of manufacturing roles including Manufacturing Director of Siemens Variable Speed Drives factory in Congleton, Cheshire. |
|
| Juergen is also a member of the Government's Ministerial advisory group on Manufacturing, and is a Board Member of the Sector Skills council SEMTA and Manufacturing Insight, an organisation tasked with promoting the positive image of the manufacturing sector in the UK. |
